Fuel HQ approached me to develop the visual and motion identity for PayPal’s internal AI Summit, alongside the opening film that would set the tone for the event.
Working with direction and guidance from Conor, Fuel HQ’s Creative Director, my role was to explore how PayPal’s brand could express AI in a more cinematic, intelligent and motion-led way.
As an internal event, the project gave us space to push beyond the usual external brand constraints, creating a visual identity that felt more experimental and future-facing while still remaining recognisably PayPal.
The visual language was rooted in the way AI systems work: inputs, nodes, relationships and feedback loops, constantly passing information between one another.
Instead of treating AI as a vague futuristic idea, I approached it as a system of communication. Data moves, connects, responds and reorganises ultimately resulting in a tangible output.
This became the foundation for the motion identity: nodes forming and separating, signals travelling through structured pathways, and individual elements building into larger connected systems.
